Summary

Set after the events shown in The Caine Mutiny, Lt. Steve Maryk (Jeff Daniels) stands on trial for his mutinous actions aboard that vessel. Defended reluctantly by Lt. Barney Greenwald (Eric Bogosian), the trial recounts the events aboard the Caine in relation to Lt. Cmdr. Queeg (Brad Davis). Through eye witness testimony, prosecutor Lt. Cmdr John Challee (Peter Gallagher) attempts to show that Maryk acted improperly in relieving Queeg of his duties as Captain of the Caine. However, in a skillful show of legal maneuvers, Greenwald turns the tables on Queeg, acquitting his client and all but ruining Queeg's naval career.
